    Amazon River – http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Rio%20Grande/217/73/22

Find one of the most stunning rain forests in Amazon River. expanding across two regions. Bring friends, relax, explore and solve quests to win prizes in this two-region jungle. But most importantly: have a great time!

Tropical Jungle Island Indigenous Inca Aztec Paradise Atoll Rain Forest Tribe  Mama Allpa Nude Beach Swim Fun Rlv Traps Sea Raider Lost Carp Hunt Quest, Île, Indigène, Inca, Aztèque, Le Paradis,  Forêt Tropicale, Tribu, Plage De Nudistes, Pièges Rlv

Amazon River is an Adult category SIM. I didn`t see the bits that are “adult” but they are apparently there going by the above description from the “about land” blurb (first one is from SLs Destination guide). The SIM itself spans 2 regions and it looks like a lot of work has gone into this place.

From an aesthetic point of view, the SIM looks beautiful… Lots of  very lovely trees, waterways and paths to explore along with a lot of patforms. These wooden platforms are probably where all the dodgy bits are done but I was too busy panning to test any of them lol.

I love the high viewing platform on the edge of the SIM and its commanding view of the SIM in general. It also has a couples pose ball set where you can sit and stare out across the ocean in each others arms (as I wandered up while 2 people were doing just that).

You can also spend some time shopping as they have a marketplace on 1 side.

My only issue with the SIM, as with a few other I have visited, is the silence… I am not sure if it is a case that their music stream needs to be prodded but while I was there, and whe I went back to retake a shot a while later, it was silent. If there was a quiet/soothing style track playing, I think it would be a lovely place to visit but I also suspect that if they are pushing visitors towards the adult themes, they may be leaving it silent for voice chat. But I merely speculate…

Definitely worth a visit for the visual aspects and worth exploring through the paths and wooden walkways.

    Scoop Motors SIM

    Scoop Motors – http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Scoop%20Motors/36/34/21

I first came across this sim while investigating the debra charity and visiting its satellite office on this sim (to read more about the debra charity and the EB disease, read my other blog article).

Scoop motors is home to the Demonic Blackhearts MC and the Wayward Angels MC and they both have clubhouses on the SIM. And while the whole SIM is open and unrestricted to the public, the clubhouses are offlimits during club meetings. Please respect the clubs and I would personally say that if you are not a member of the club, to not go into the 2 club areas. They are clearly marked and so hard to miss 🙂

The SIM also has a number of stores, and has stores for rent:

We have stores for rent 50 prim @ 200l a wk and 25 prim @ 100l a week, we also have rental units fully furnished and 3 teirs high at 600l a wk with 100 prim.

There is a concert area, demolition derby, grand death auto, demolition ball, paint ball and laser tag (which is sim wide), big game hunting, boomtown, parking garage, zombies, adult relaxation park, child play park, battle tanks, go carts, swimming area, bowling, greedy, pool cards against humanity and club for events.

To me, the biggest draw of this SIM and the thing that will almost certainly have me coming back again and again is the 1,000+ meters of roadway!! This thing goes on for a loooooong way. It travels up into the sky and passes a number of points of interest on the way up, including the 2 MC club areas. At the top of the road are TWO timing tracks for you to race on,they even thought of putting a car/bike parking area next to the start lol. The top area will keep you amused for a long time and it took me almost 15 minutes to ride down to the bottom of the race tracks!!

The pictures really don`t do the size of this road network justice so I do strongly urge you to check it out and take a ride/drive up and away. You can rez your own bike/car/etc and have fun with your friends. Challenge them to a race round 1 of the 2 tracks in the sky, or just hang out and have fun.

This really is a great SIM to keep yourself amused for a while and definitely worth a visit to see.

They are a proud supporter of the debra charity and have one of the satellite offices on SIM for you to donate, buy items for sale to benefit the charity’s fundraising. Epidermolysis Bullosa (the EB of dEBra) is known as “The Worst Disease You’ve Never Heard Of.™” and it needs all the help it can get to raise awareness for those that suffer from it, so head over, boost the charit y and have some fun while you are there.

    American Cancer Society – http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/American%20Cancer%20Society/128/154/22

Home to the American Cancer Society in SL.  Monthly cancer awareness events & information, self interactive info 24/7, support groups & programs. ACS, cancer, charity, RFL, Relay For Life, survivors, fundraising, research,, Making Strides, breast cancer

Cancer is something that is very close to so many of us these days. It is directly connected to me personally through my Mother, Father and Aunt all having had a variation of it over the years. Thankfully 2 out of 3 survived the treatment but my aunt was not so lucky.

The American Cancer Society offers hope to sufferers of this often fatal disease, the ACS in Second Life offers education/awareness programs and aims to unite survivors and caregivers. Residents can also visit Anatomica, which examines the key player in the body’s immune system: the white blood cell.

The ACS needs public help to continue fighting this disease and to help look after those both going through treatment, those who have survived treatment and to the families of those unlucky enough to lose that fight.

The ACS in SL provides a very beautiful SIM where you can find out more about what the ACS does, donate to the cause and also visit a remembrance garden to those who have lost the fight. You can add to this wall by request and give yourself somewhere in SL that everybody can go to and pay their respects with flowers that will also benefit the ACS as they will receive the linden cost of the flowers.

Do please visit this sim and donate to the charity in any way you can do. Together we can fight this and together we can win that fight eventually.

    Exploring Second Life – H220

    H220, KSA Atlantis – http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/KSA%20Atlantis/205/164/502

By its own description a H22O is semi-submerged, rainy and dark landscape open for exploration and photography. “Never run in the rain with your socks on”

I saw it on the SL loading screen and decided it was worth a visit… It is another SIM that I feel would benefit from some sort of music or tunes while you wander about but it does look good.

The landing area for the SIM is up in the sky and you have th crawl through a pipe to get down to the ground level where the actual SIM itself really is.

I do like the rain effect that is constant in the semi gloom theme as it adds to the semi eerie feeling they I think were trying to go for.

It has various separate items  dotted around the ground level, all under just enough water to paddle through as you walk between them.

As I mentioned above, the only thing that I didn`t like as much was that it was so quiet… Some atmospheric music or effects would have added to the overall theme nicely I feel but overall I did like how it looked and felt as I was walking about in the rain and occasional lightening 🙂

Exploring Second Life – Goodnight Photography

    Goodnight Photography, Berlengas – http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Berlengas/131/78/22

The home of Jeff Goodnight.  You are more than welcome to visit and shoot photos.  If there is anything I can assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I have long been slightly jealous of Jeff`s photographic quality and ability. He is one of the few great photographers that is also more than happy to help out somebody in aiding another budding photographer to better themselves. I was such a person and with Jeff`s help, I reawakened my love of taking pictures of SL and it`s many wanders now that I have both the pc to do so and, thanks to Jeff`s help, the ability to use it to get the best shots possible of SL.

I will be forever grateful to him for his help in allowing me to once again very much enjoy jumping about and grabbing shots of some of SL’s most beautiful SIMs in nice high quality shots.

So it was no surprise that when I heard he was going to be doing a SIM of his own again, I could not wait to see it and explore it as I knew that if his creative juices flowed with even a small portion of his obvious eye for beauty, then it would be an amazingly lovely thing.

And when it was finished, it was all that and more. Not only had he managed to create a beautiful looking SIM, he had also thought of others in the process. There are pose balls and scenes all over the SIM where you can grab your own snapshots in a beautiful, peaceful setting.

I am once again entirely jealous of what Jeff can do and hope that my pictures do the SIM as much justice as it so truely deserves.

Definitely, definitely go and visit Goodnight Photography and grab your own memories with that somebody special on a wonderfully special and beautiful looking SIM.

    http://gardenofdreams-god.blogspot.com/

The Garden of Dreams sim is one that we have visited many times before and I thought it was definitely time to go picture things. It is one of my favourite SIMs in SL to visit due to it`s beautiful look and lovely peaceful music which allows you to just relax and enjoy the time. The ethereal feel of the place as the default SIM style lends beautifully to the feel of things amd if you turn on a couple of the Environment Filters it makes the sim look amazing (as you will see on a “before & after” picture below).

There are a number of areas where you can site on the poseballs and just relax, or you can go and select on of the Sky boxes that you can find if you look around for the magic tp points… The boxes can rez a number of different scenes and all are wonderfully private while still enjoying the music of the SIM.

The landing area of the SIM also allows you to buy SIM Surrounds and various other SIM enhancing items and is where I myself got one of the SIM surrounds I have used over the years,

It really is a lovely place to visit and relax in and comes highly recommended by me for one.

    Aspen Fell – http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Aspen%20Fell/159/115/50

A great place to relax. Calm Monochromatic Sim for all.

Next up on my tour of  beautiful SL Sims is Aspen Fell. Another of the featured landing spots when you load the viewer, it is a lovely darkened SIM. For the first set of pictures, I purposely left the camera settings as the SIM is and then later, I turned on the Environment settings to show in normal brightness.

The background music is very suitable to everything and I enjoyed panning round the SIM taking pictures while listening to it.

Definitely worth a visit for a peaceful, relaxing time as there are a number of  pose balls around the SIM to use.

Another exploration of a SIM featured on the loading screen for SL, Rico’s Tea House, Cyprus Island, Isle of Flux. It is a very lovely SIM with places to sit and chat with other people, relax on the yachts in the bay or explore the buildings.

The only thing I wasn`t enjoying was the silence from no music stream… Not sure if just a momentary thing but it would have been a much nicer place to relax in if there had been a stream playing… But it is definitely a lovely looking SIM and worth a trip 🙂
